Brave

When Kent and I began TKS, we knew we wanted it to be full of music and charity for our many friends and neighbors in East Tennessee. We wanted music to benefit causes we felt strongly about. Kent was an Air Force Veteran and the causes of our Veterans are extremely important to us all.
A couple of months ago, I saw two gentlemen standing outside of a Walmart store. They were from the Volunteer State War Era Veteran's Honor Guard.  These esteemed Veterans were asking for the public's support. They operate solely on donations to perform military funerals for honorably discharged Veterans. Admittedly, I was in disbelief. I thought this honor was provided for by the tax money used for Veteran's purposes. (I have learned a lot of sad things since then...and Outlaw Willie Franklin and I, among others, are working on several projects to benefit local Veterans.)
Until I can organize a musical event supporting these brave, courageous men and women, I want to offer music that Kent and I, as well as others, have made to you. Any money made from these songs will go directly to The East Tennessee Veteran's Honor Guard.  Every download counts. I have witnessed firsthand the services that these folks perform for my grandparents and for a friend, and it is a deserved right that our Veterans should never go without.  In some areas of the country, Veteran's funerals have been changed because of a lack of funding. Please do not let that happen here. You can visit their site to learn more, and to make a donation if you are able to do so. Simpy contacting these amaging neighbors and telling them thank you will make their day and yours!
I appreciate you reading this. I do not think I can convey in words how important of a cause this is, but know it is an honorable one. Thank you in advance for your support.
