Pine Mountain Prayer

This was inspired by a friend's sharing of a special place for him and upon research, learned of how many people call this dear mountain their home.

Pine Mountain Prayer

Won’t you take a roam with me

Wander Laurel Branch Holler

There’s so much to see

Oaks have grown even taller

Over forty of my years

I have walked this mountain land

When the sunny season veer

Holly and mistletoe in hand

Between seasons fall and spring

There’s a bit of magic in the air

What a gift that she brings

With her Pine Mountain prayer

Pine Mountain has a prayer

She whispers in your ear

Everytime I go wander there

There’s something new to hear

Some days I read the gospel

Some eves I stare for stars

Far away and thoughtful

On this mountain side of ours

Cardinals and wrens watch if

A passerby should toil

A pine sprung from a cliff

Adorned with ribbons, shells, tin foil

Pine Mountain’s in my soul

As I go about my day,

Praises to extol

So blessed in everyway

Pine Mountain has a prayer

She whispers in your ear

Everytime I go wander there

There’s something new to hear

This prayer of Pine Mountain

Carries me everywhere

No matter the place I’m in

I have my Pine Mountain prayer
